Senior Year Timeline
Fall
- Begin to finalize post-secondary plans
- Double check to make sure you have enough credits to graduate and the
classes you need for college
- Retake the ACT
- Narrow your post-secondary choices to three
- Make school visits
- Research and apply for scholarships
- Gather and make a file including GPA, Class Rank, Entrance Exam Scores,
Transcripts, Recommendations (3), and personal statements for scholarship
and school applications. Much of this information should be in your career
portfolio.
- Complete your Service Learning hours (make sure to mention volunteering
activities when applying for scholarships and schools
- Update your portfolio including resume
Winter
- Attend Financial Aid Information Night
- Begin process of filling out Free Application for Federal Student
Assistance (FAFSA) and send in as soon as possible after January 1
- Continue applying for scholarships
Spring
- Choose the post-secondary institution you plan on attending
- If attending post-secondary institution, finalize school plans such as
housing, meal plans, course registration
- If entering the work force, plan for housing, budge, insurance, etc.
- Continue filling out scholarship applications
- Complete Service Learning hours
- Collect your bounty of scholarship $$$$
- Graduate (VERY IMPORTANT!)
